I received a ticket I don’t think I deserve. Why can’t I just ignore it?

If you receive a ticket, you should never ignore it. A violation should be paid or appealed within 7 days of receipt.  While it is fresh in your memory, present all of the facts in your appeal. Simply saying you did not do anything wrong or that the officer made a mistake is not sufficient. You should give the Hearing’s Officer as much information as possible on which to base a decision.

Terms and Conditions of Appeals 

1. Appeals must be submitted through the proper channel. Failure to submit an appeal through the proper channel will result in automatic dismissal of the appeal. (Please see how to section below) 
2. If one appeals the citation, we cannot accept payment until the request has been approved/denied. 
3. If one pays for the citation, they waive their ability to appeal the citation. 
4. Diagrams, photos, and other supporting documentation must be submitted with the initial appeal. 
5. You will be notified once a hearing has been set for your appeal and the board has reached a decision on your appeal
6. If your appeal is granted no further action is required on your behalf.
7. If your appeal is rejected you will be responsible for the full amount of the citation in addition to the $5.00 processing fee. If you are a permit holder, the citation and the processing fee will be applied to your billing statement.
8. All decisions made by the appeal board are final.

How to Submit an Appeal

If you are an active (student/faculty/staff) please visit the Permit Portal and submit your appeal through the citations section of the website. Click "Login" at the top right of the screen and then select "Affiliated Login" to "View Your Citations" If the citation does not appear, return to the Parking Portal home page and search the citation.

1. You will need the following information to submit your appeal.
   • Citation number in question
   • License plate
   • State your vehicle is registered in
